Are You Prepared? What Excel Industries Learned from an Active Shooter Situation.

We do our best to prepare for the unexpected and often wonder if there is more we could do. KCMN's May meeting will help you examine your organization's preparedness by sharing a real manufacturing experience with something we hope you will never encounter, an active shooter. 

This presentation will begin with a brief overview of the shooting incident on February 25, 2016 at Excel Industries in Hesston, KS. Lamar Roth, Director of Human Resources at Excel Industries, will review the experiences of the HR department, the role the department had during the immediate hours, days and weeks after the event, and the role of HR now, 6 years after the event. He will explore lessons learned and answer questions at the end of the presentation.
